FAQ

I have a family member who has difficulty walking, do you have a wheelchair?

We do not supply wheelchairs for Convocation ceremonies. We can offer reserved seating closest to the handicap entrance for your guest. Please contact the Convocation staff to make arrangements.

How do I determine when I (or my child) will be graduating?

The Office of the Registrar will have information related to your eligibility to graduate. Each academic quarter has its own Convocation; please see below for more details.

Winter Quarter - A Convocation takes place the last Friday of the winter quarter, in March (finals week). It is held in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. All graduating candidates will participate in this ceremony, during which the president will confer degrees and present each graduate with their diploma individually.

Spring Quarter - A Convocation is held outdoors (rain or shine) on the University’s Main Quadrangle the last Saturday of the spring quarter, in June (finals week). All candidates will participate in this ceremony, during which the president will verbally confer degrees to groups of candidates by degree type and academic program. Individual divisions and schools will hold separate ceremonies or receptions at which degree candidates will receive their diplomas individually from their deans.

Summer Quarter – A Convocation takes place the last Friday of the summer quarter, in August (finals week). It is held in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. All graduating candidates will participate in this ceremony, during which the president will confer degrees and present each graduate with their diploma individually.

Autumn Quarter – A Convocation takes place the last Friday of the autumn quarter, in December (finals week). It is held in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. All graduating candidates will participate in this ceremony, during which the president will confer degrees and present each graduate with their diploma individually.
