Eligilibity to March
In order to participate in Convocation, degree candidates must have satisfied all curricular requirements and passed all prescribed examinations before the deadlines published by the Registrar. No exceptions will be made.
Candidates for a degree must file an application to graduate no later than the beginning of the quarter in which the degree is to be conferred. Applications for non-Booth students should be completed on-line at my.uchicgao.edu portal. Students who are not currently active must apply through their area Dean of Students office. Booth students should apply through the Chicago Booth.
Degree applications which are cancelled—for any reason—after the end of the fifth week of the quarter will incur a $50 Degree Cancellation Fee assessed to the student’s account with the Bursar.
For information about your degree programs, outstanding requirements, honors and special honors, contact your adviser in the College Dean of Students.
A degree candidate wears the robe and cap that is appropriate for the degree he or she is to receive at Convocation, regardless of any previous degrees received. Doctoral candidates are not hooded at the ceremony, but candidates who have received their hoods may wear them at the ceremony. Because Convocation is a formal and traditional ceremony, we ask that candidates wear attire and adornment that is appropriate for the occasion. See below for instructions specific to your degree.
