Virtual Ceremonies Schedule

The 533rd Convocation will take place virtually on Saturday, June 13, at 9:15 a.m. CDT.

This is a University-wide ceremony involving degree candidates from all divisions and schools. During the ceremony, the University President Robert J. Zimmer will confer degrees to all candidates. The virtual ceremony will stream at convocation.uchicago.edu

Class Day

Class Day is a student-orchestrated event that celebrates the graduating class, its achievements, and its unique contributions to the UChicago community. Class Day serves as an intimate celebration for graduating seniors to reflect on their undergraduate experience and time in the College. This year’s virtual ceremony will feature student speeches from Greer Baxter, Annie Geng, and Emily Stevens, a “Well Wishes” video, a musical performance from Dirt Red Brass Band, and a keynote address from distinguished cancer researcher, Dr. Otis W. Brawley, SB’81, MD’85.

The college is proud to recognize the incredible achievements of our graduates during College Diploma Ceremonies. A UChicago tradition, the College Diploma Ceremonies invite students to return to their residential communities to celebrate graduation with those with whom they began their academic journey. Each ceremony is presided over by a Resident Dean and features remarks, speeches, and the reading of the names of each graduate.
