Main Entrances and Seating
When navigating to campus, the central address used to access the Main Quadrangles is 5801 South Ellis Avenue. Please keep in mind several streets throughout campus are closed to vehicle traffic, so guests may expect greater walking distances. While the Main Quadrangles is open year-round with multiple entry points, for the University’s 533rd Convocation, a fence is erected restricting access to all but three security-enforced entrances. As shown on the Procession map, these three entrances are located on the north and south sides of Levi Hall, which is west of the Main Quadrangles off Ellis Avenue. The third entrance is designated only for guests with disabilities who have submitted their Accommodation Request Form, which is located at the southeast end of the Main Quadrangles, off University Avenue, south of the main stage.
Upon entering the Main Quadrangles, all guests will receive a clear plastic bag that contains a Convocation program, a poncho, and a booklet that will serve as an information resource for navigating your day.
Guests who prefer an indoor viewing location may view a live broadcast of the ceremony either in Kent Auditorium or Bond Chapel. These spaces are located within the Main Quadrangles. Seating is limited so early attendance is recommended.
Upon entering through one of the three main entrances to the Main Quadrangles, all guests will enter through a tented security checkpoint area.
- All bags are subject to inspection. Items that may interfere with guests seeing or hearing the ceremony are not permitted.
- Guests will be asked to turn over any items that are deemed not permissible within the Main Quadrangles. Following the University Convocation Ceremony, guests may pick-up those items at the same entrance.
- Please refrain from bringing pets; service animals are permitted.
- Umbrellas and Strollers are permitted.
