On Friday, June 2; Saturday, June 3; and Sunday, June 4, the University of Chicago will host its annual Convocation activities on campus that will impact streets in the neighborhood. Class Day takes place from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on Friday, and the University’s 537th Convocation and complementary events will occur from 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Convocation and related activities are part of a long-standing tradition to gather the community to celebrate many achievements, and we want to make sure our neighbors can plan for any disruption in normal use of the streets and parking restrictions throughout the neighborhood.
During the three days, campus colleagues and our neighbors can expect the following:
- Friday road closures
- Saturday road closures
- Parking restrictions
- On Saturday, CTA bus routes 171 and 172: morning service will be rerouted; service will be suspended from noon-5:00 p.m.; and regular service resumes after 5:00 p.m.
- Increased number of visitors to the campus
Thank you for your patience during this significant occasion for our campus.
